We get a lot of questions regarding animation and video in email campaigns. The general rule with any video files or any animation created in flash is that it doesn’t work in many email clients and so is not worth bothering with. Research seems to indicate that people are a little turned off by any moving images and so we haven’t done much work on it.

Content is important and will stay priority for most email marketers. But, when you consider that most readers will only read the first two words of a paragraph before their attention is caught by something else, email marketers will need to come up with strategies for guiding the reader through the email.
