Mailing Manager Live Help

Hashbusting is the process in which the spammers send random texts attached at the bottom of your email. It may be chunk of texts from an e-book or may be from online dictionary which are merely nonsense, which doesn’t seem to make logic or isn’t related anyways to the email content. These are simple texts attached to an email with the motive to explore your email software.

This is not a very novel technique applied by the spammers, as we have evidences of such tricks being played in earlier years as well. The main idea behind sending these emails is to evade your spam filters which are equipped with simple checksums email software to block similar messages from the sender.

Spammers have the idea that this arbitrary form of text will seem less similar, and could not be identified by the email software as spam and will get through the filter till your inboxes. You can find these texts as meaningless content affixed to the received mail.

But fortunately most of the email software is equipped with the technology to detect this kind of hitch even with the unwanted texts included. They check for these similar kind of content and put them in the spam folder.

There are a number of cyber criminals who tries to hack your computer by sending these spam mails. Even companies dealing with email marketing and internet marketing, try these steps to send advertising or marketing mails to their email list. The spammers even send internet threats like viruses which can corrupt your email software as well as your PC. These companies are immediately identified and suspended by the internet service providers or email software providers if they are found to be sending these “hash buster” texts with the mails to their recipients.

The Netizens at large are unaware of this attempt by the hackers. Therefore proper consciousness and alertness on the part of the mail receipts is also viable in this respect. The recipients should make an effort to report against these kinds of mails. Software developers are working at large to develop email software which can be specially used to detect Hashbusting.

As mentioned before this attempt of sending spam mails is not a new technique on the part of the spammers. Even in the earlier years of 2004 and 2005 we have found evidences of hashbusting. Therefore, consumers at large should be made aware of the consequences.
